2002 – December – Vol. 13, No. 3
At 180 pages, this is one of the largest issues of Snow Goer in history, and it’s packed with information. It includes the 800 Twin High-Performance Shootout, comparing and contrasting the Arctic Cat ZR 800 EFI, Ski-Doo MX Z 800 REV, Polaris Indy 800 Pro X and the FAST Blade 1W-X – yes, you read that right, the FAST Blade was in the shootout! Each machine is rated and reviewed, then individual test riders share further feedback. Yamaha didn’t have a two-stroke twin, so it’s RX-1 is covered in a sidebar. The issue also includes an in-depth look into plastic skis of the era, a tour story in Oregon, a Timeline article on the 1973 Johnson Phantom, a Tech Professor column on front suspension design, plus a huge Vacation Guide section.
