1984 – Sept/October – Vol. 19, No. 2
Check out the Sept/Oct. 1984 issue of Snow Goer magazine to see a buyer’s guide for available 1985 snowmobiles from Arctic Cat, Polaris, Ski-Doo, Yamaha and Manta. This was Cat’s second year back from being at the brink of distinction, and the El Tigre on the cover celebrated the brand’s re-emergency. There’s much more in this tidy issue, however, including:
– Results from Snow Goer Shootout V, where the Indy 600 won top speed but it was outmaneuvered by a Ski-Doo Formula Plus for overall bragging rights.
– Results from Snow Goer’s third annual Fuel Economy Run, in which an Arctic Cat Jag averaged 33.6 mpg!
– A sneak preview into the new Yamaha Phazer
Plus a festival guide, tour stories from Canada and Finland, a “Consumer Runoff” at the annual shootout, a towing test with a Plymouth Voyager minivan (yikes!), even the old ads are cool in this issue. Also of note, the issues in question are in pristine condition — they were packaged by the printer in 1984 and just recently opened.
